Engaging Multilingual Learners Across K-12 is a 90-minute virtual webinar for K–12 educators, instructional assistants and coaches, and building or district administrators. We begin with a welcome and framing, highlighting cross-grade collaboration for multilingual learners. The first 45 minutes feature strategy spotlights from elementary, middle, and high school teachers, who share engaging, research-informed approaches tailored to students’ linguistic and cultural backgrounds, explanations of classroom implementation, language development support, and student engagement.
A 25-minute moderated panel explores cross-grade connections, multilingual learner identity, practical implementation, and ongoing challenges working with multilingual learners, with panelists reflecting on strategies that transfer across contexts. The final 15 minutes include audience Q&A addressing clarifications, grade-level adaptations, and real-world classroom questions. The webinar concludes with closing remarks, resource access information, and opportunities to connect with the CATESOL K–12 network.
