Balancing Student Support and Faculty Mental Health (IEP)
This session explores how emotional labor and student support expectations differ between noncredit and credit environments. Participants will discuss sustainable, student-centered practices, boundary setting, and the shared and distinct institutional responsibilities involved in supporting diverse student populations across both systems.
Noncredit and credit faculty often support students under different structural expectations, yet face similar challenges related to emotional labor and burnout. This discussion examines how institutional systems shape support roles, where boundaries are needed, and how responsibility should be shared between individuals and institutions.
