Teacher Self-Regulation in Refugee and Crisis Classrooms (RC-IG)
Description:
Teaching learners from refugee and crisis-affected backgrounds requires not only effective pedagogy but also attention to teacher well-being. This interactive workshop introduces key principles of trauma-sensitive teaching and explores how educators can support students while also tending to their own nervous systems and emotional health. Participants will learn practical strategies for creating safe, supportive learning environments and experience brief self-regulation and reflection activities. The session highlights that sustainable trauma-informed teaching begins with the teacher.
