Event Description
Join us for a practical case study on creating and refining an EL Civics Needs Assessment. Using a real-world example from her own program, Soleil Turell will share the process, strategies, and tools she utilized for a more streamlined and effective needs assessment creation process. In this session, she will:

1. Walk through how she built a needs assessment from scratch using CASAS resources and the Pre-approved COAAP List;
2. Share lessons learned about selecting COAAPs and the benefits of reviewing COAAP tasks (not just objectives) to identify realistic options;
3. Provide resources to develop a visuals-based needs assessment for student clarity;
4. Discuss how data collection tools like Google Forms can simplify organizing results.

This session is designed to provide actionable takeaways and spark ideas you can adapt for your own program. The session will be 50 minutes long, with a 10-minute Q&A at the end. We hope to see you on Zoom!
